(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 27, 2016)Chazzano03
Walled Lake, MI – State Representative Klint Kesto of the 39th District is seeking his third term in office.  The 39th District includes West Bloomfield, Commerce Township, Wixom and White Lake.  Democrat Michael Stack and Independent Beth McGrath will also appear on the Nov. 8 ballot for that position.
Representative Kesto worked as a manager in his family’s pizza shop before earning a law degree and working as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne County.
When asked why people should vote for him, Kesto said “First off look at my track record, and look how I’ve worked and advocated for the community. I’ve been accessible, I’ve taken those ideas and those issues and put them into law, and got them signed by the Governor. That’s the effectiveness of my candidacy and my work as a State Representative.
“Look at my background and my experience as a prosecutor, as managing a business. And I translated buxbaum-adthat into action. My opponent, I’m not sure what his education background is. That may or may not be important for some people. If you look at his work on the Village Council of Wolverine Lake, they took a temporary tax and passed that along to the people to increase garbage fees and increase taxes to those hard-working families. And it was supposed to be temporary. And yet all these years have passed by it has not been removed off the peoples’ backs. It has continued.
“If you look at my work, The budget has increased slower than the rate of inflation. We are stabilizing our budget. We are paying off debt. We are saving money. That’s the type of work they can get from Klint Kesto as your Representative – advocating for the community, being fiscally responsible, listening to the people, and being accessible.”
In his interview with oc115, Kesto talked about legislation he is proud of including a human trafficking bill and a bill to teach about Jewish and Armenian genocide.  He also talked about road projects in the district, including Green Lake Road, Benstein Road, Walnut Lake and Benstein.  And about funding priorities as legislators look at the budget.
