Driver Charged After Driving Through Garage, Into House

Waterford Twp, MI – The Waterford Township Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious injury accident on October 9, 2016 at 2:47am.
A 2010 Ford Edge being driven by Jordan Watson, an 18 year old from Howell, was traveling south on Scott Lake Road in excess of 90 MPH. The vehicle crossed over Elizabeth Lake Road onto Edgefield Drive, where it left the roadway and drove into the attached garage of an unoccupied home at 3039 Edgefield. The vehicle continued out the side wall of the garage, and struck the side of the adjacent home at 3027 Edgefield, where it came to rest. The residents of the second home were not injured.
There were four other occupants in the vehicle at the time of the accident. A 17 year old female from Commerce Township, a 19 year old male from Highland, a 13 year old male from Pontiac and a 14 year old male from Waterford. All occupants of the vehicle were sent to local hospitals with very serious injuries.
All except the 19 year old have since been released.
The driver and front seat passenger (17 year old) were wearing seatbelts.
On October 11, 2016, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office issued an 8 count warrant for the driver. 4 counts of Operating While Intoxicated Causing Serious Injury (one count for each passenger) and 4 counts of Operating – License Suspended, Revoked, Denied – Causing Serious Injury (one count for each passenger). Both type charges are a 5 year felony and/or $1,000-$5,000 fine.
Jordan Watson was arraigned on the charges before Magistrate Anderson in the 51st District Court, and bond was set at $50,000 cash/no 10%. He is currently lodged in the Oakland County Jail awaiting his next court date of 10/25/16 at 1:30pm.
