(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 15, 2016)MBREW draft one

Bloomfield Hills, MI –In the race for United States Congress 9th District, Republican Christopher R. Morse is running against incumbent Sander Levin.  The 9th District includes several cities in Oakland County and Macomb County, including Beverly Hills, Berkley, Bingham Farms, Clawson, Ferndale, Franklin, Hazel Park, Huntington Woods, Madison Heights, Pleasant Ridge, and Royal Oak.
When asked why he is running, Morse said “I’m running to give people back their seat. That’s why I’m running.  I don’t think the current incumbent is representing everybody. I feel like he level_one_ad01represents a select few and that’s not the way I view the Constitution when it comes to the House of Representatives….  There are a lot of veterans that live in our district, I being one of them.  And there was a few times, on in particular, I called his office and said I had an issue and I was basically blown off.  He got himself an opponent after that.”
Morse has a career of military service that includes both the Navy and the Army, and also worked as a stockbroker.  In his interview with oc115, he spoke about Veterans issues, his travels in the military, budgeting and the need to audit the Federal government. He also expounded on the  issue that led him to running in the first place which was over a racial remark made by a Congressperson during the time of unrest in Ferguson, and Levin failing to respond to  Morse’s desire for him to condemn his fellow Representative.
