2016 Candidate Interview:  Jackie Hart and Mike Davisson for Ferndale School Board

Ferndale, MI –  There are two positions on the Ferndale School Board this Nov. 8 Election, and there are two people running for them. Though their election is presumptive, the oc115 still wanted to give candidates Jackie Hart and Mike Davisson an opportunity to talk about why they are running.
Jackie Hart is currently a School Board Trustee, having been appointed beginning in Jan. 2016 to fill the vacancy left when Raylon Leaks-May left to take her position on Ferndale City Council.  Hart is a technical writer with communications skills.
Mike Davisson is a parent who has not run for office previously. He is a former teacher who moved on to a career in social work.
Both had been involved in the District’s Strategic Planning Process, and both talked about the need to continue following through with the plans that were made by the community and the district.
In their joint interview with oc115, Hart and Davisson talked about issues impacting the district such as the reorganization of school buildings, closing the achievement gap between students, what accomplishments there have been and what the next year of service on the board could be like.
The Ferndale School District includes Ferndale, Pleasant Ridge and parts of Royal Oak Township and Oak Park.
