Novi, MI – Democrat Colleen Crossey is running for County Commissioner for the 9th District which includes Novi, Novi Twp and part of Northville. Republican Hugh Crawford is also running for the seat.
Crossey explained that she is running to impact how tax dollars are spent in Oakland County. “A county budget reflects our values. So if we value clean water then we fund projects to keep 
it safe. If we value the safety of people who use the roads, then we fund road repair,” she said. Later in the interview she said people should vote for her “because of my values I just mentioned here and because I’m an activist, so I have a track record of trying to get the right things done. So that is exactly what I’m going to do.”
In her interview with oc115, Crossey talked about what a county commissioner does, her opposition to tax abatement, her plan to add solar power to county buildings, and the need for a living wage. She also talked about her career in social work and how skills from social work can help in the county commission position.
