PONTIAC, Mich. – Grace Centers of Hope will host its annual Night of Hope gala from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday Sept. 23 at The Reserve located at 325 S. Eaton, Birmingham. The event will raise funds to support the nonprofit organization’s Hands of Hope Childcare Center, which provides specialized care for local children who are the victims of homelessness.
“This has been a very special year for Grace Centers of Hope that includes the opening of our new William A. Davis Women and Children’s Center, allowing us to serve more women and children in need,” said Grace Centers of Hope CEO Pastor Kent W. Clark. “At the Night of Hope gala, we will continue our momentum by unveiling plans to expand the Hands of Hope modern natural baby inprogressChildcare Center. Our hope is to provide more at-risk children with a safe and nurturing environment for years to come.”
Night of Hope offers guests a casual yet stylish evening that features a VIP lounge, strolling dinner, cocktails, a live and silent auction, and live music with dancing. FOX2 reporter Roop Raj will emcee a formal program that will highlight stories about the children whose lives have been positively affected by Grace Centers of Hope. Tickets are $85 for general admission and $125 for VIP, and can be purchased by calling 248-334-2187, ext.1131 or visiting www.gracecentersofhope.org.
The Hands of Hope Childcare Center opened its doors in August 2011, offering free childcare to parents who were enrolled in programs at Grace Centers of Hope. The 4,200 square foot facility features three classrooms, two offices, a kitchen, snack and craft area, three bathrooms and an outdoor playground. Importantly, the childcare staff has been specifically trained to level_one_ad01evaluate and work with at-risk children who have suffered developmental deficiencies as a result of homelessness.
According to Grace Centers of Hope Children’s Program Director Jodie Slongo, the expansion of the childcare center will be completed in early 2017.
“We will soon be able to double the capacity of the number of children we serve by renovating and moving into the second floor of our building,” said Slongo. “As a result, more children will have the opportunity to benefit from the life-changing programs at Grace Centers of Hope. This means that we’ll have an even greater need for monetary and in-kind donations like garden16-_-yvette-beausoleildiapers, wipes, cleaning supplies and much more.”
