garden16_mindy_domkeWhat is a Melting Pot(luck)?
It is a community potluck that gives everyone the opportunity to share a piece of their culture with the community. We encourage people to participate by bringing a dish to feed 6-8 people that is a reflection of YOUR heritage.
Don’t know what culture your heritage reflects? Bring any dish that you personally identify with or pay $20 for a ticket to attend.
Upon registering you will have two options:
1. Pay $20 for a ticket. While Peace Meal Kitchen will be providing additional food for attendees, all profits from this event will be donated to Freedom House Detroit.
2. Register to bring food that reflects your background / heritage. We will touch base with you closer to the event to note what dish you will be bringing. Upon your arrival at the event we m1_two tonewill have a card available for you to write the dish name & main ingredients (in case of allergies).
Note: The event will be BYOB & alcoholic beverages ARE allowed. Feel free to bring a favorite beverage or drink that may be from your culture for yourself or to share.
Not able to make this one?
Good news – we will be rotating through different cities & communities within the Detroit area. Keep your eyes peeled for our next Melting Pot(luck) pop-up, coming to a neighborhood near you!
