Police Searching for Light Colored Car Near Rose Township Shooting Scene

Rose Township, MI – Michigan State Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle that may have been in the area of Fish Lake Road Saturday at around 2:30 pm when a 31-year-old Holly Township woman was shot while jogging.
Michigan State Police released the following statement at 5pm on Sunday: “The Michigan State Police is continuing to investigate the homicide that took place last night in Rose Township. We are currently asking the public’s assistance in locating anyone who may have seen a white or light colored four door sedan that was on Fish Lake Road between 2 and 3 PM yesterday. It is believed the vehicle may have been acting suspicious or traveling at a high rate of speed. Anyone with information about this vehicle are asked to contact State Police.”
MSP initially gave the following information on Saturday evening:
On July 30, 2016 at approximately 2 35 PM Detroit Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call that a female was on the front lawn of a residence on the 11000 block of Fish Lake Road and that she had been shot by an unknown individual. Troopers from the Metro North Post responded and the victim was transported to Genesys Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Troopers and detectives from the Second District Special Investigation Section are currently starting to canvas the area and gather evidence from the crime scene. Anyone who has information on this incident are asked to call 1 877 MICH-TIP.
Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police was on the scene Saturday evening. He confirmed that the victim is a 31-year-old female from Holly Township. She died of a gunshot wound and a homicide investigation is under way.
Early Sunday afternoon Lt. Shaw said “I have nothing new. We are working leads and evidence from yesterday. I won’t be releasing the name today.”
UPDATE: Monday, Aug. 1 – Officials have identified the victim as Alexandra Nicollette Brueger, according to the Oakland Press. Brueger was working towards a graduate degree in creative writing and was a registered nurse at Providence Park Hospital. Police still do not have a suspect or a motive.
