Fire Severely
Damages Home in Oak Park, UPDATED

Oak Park, MI – There was a residential house fire in Oak Park on Sunday morning, but officials are not yet releasing information on what caused the fire or if occupants made it out okay that resulted in two adults being transported to Detroit Receiving Hospital by Alliance Ambulance for treatment.
According to a City of Oak Park spokesperson, “At approximately 7:15 a.m. on Sunday, July 17, City of Oak Park Public Safety officers were dispatched to the 15000 block of Marlow on the report of a house fire. Officers arrived on scene and observed heavy flames coming from the living room area of the home. Within one minute of arrival on scene, the entire home was fully engulfed in flames.

The fire happened at about 7am according to a neighbor who said he woke to the sound of sirens.
Oak Park Police told oc115 that no one was available to comment, and they have yet to respond to an emailed request for information. A dispatcher at the station said they could not confirm if there were any injuries or fatalities.
The neighbor said that an elderly lady and a younger relative were renters at the home, but this information has not been verified.
On Sunday afternoon, natural gas subcontractors were on the scene – keeping a perimeter around the house and digging up the street in front of it with a backhoe.
