Reporter Food: Breakfast from the Daily Dinette

Ferndale, MI – I’m not usually a morning person (because I stay up so late writing), but if I do get up for early meetings, I enjoy popping into Daily Dinette as a quick breakfast option that is higher quality than fast food.
I’d intended to showcase the new breakfast platters, but another patron’s order inspired me in a slightly healthier direction. I ended up with a custom breakfast sandwich that might be a good option for others to try.
It’s a locally baked English Muffin with a fried egg, cheese, tomato and avocado. In other words, a breakfast sandwich minus meat, add tomato and avocado. Mmmmm…
I also got crispy hash browns which seem to be better and better every time I come. The cooks at Daily Dinette have perfected making them light and crispy.
It would not be right to ignore the Daily Dinette’s pride – their fresh baked donuts. I picked up a maple bacon one for later.
