Deceased Woman Found in Field in Pontiac Identified as White Lake Resident

We have received several inquirers about a body found this morning. Below is the synopsis:

INCIDENT: 6/29/16 @ 8:38AM City of Pontiac, Death Investigation, 16-111081
SUMMARY:

Deputies were dispatched to the corner of Going St. and Prospect St. for a report of a person lying in a vacant field. The caller stated that he was working in an adjacent lot and he had not approached the downed subject.
Upon arrival deputies located a female lying on her back that was obviously deceased. STAR EMS arrived on scene and the female was pronounced deceased via telemetry by a doctor at McLaren Oakland Hospital.
There were no obvious signs of trauma.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:

Detectives responded to begin their investigation. The OCSO Forensic Lab and a Medical Examiner’s Office Investigator responded to process the scene. The body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office at the scene pending autopsy tomorrow for cause and manner of death. The investigation continues.

VICTIM, SUSPECT or ARRESTEE INFORMATION:

Victim: Believed to be a 30 year old female resident of White Lake Twp. but no positive ID has been made yet.

More information will be released tomorrow after the autopsy.

Updated Information: Body of a Female Found in Pontiac on 6-29-16

There appeared to be a fresh set of vehicle tire tracks leading from the street through the field to where the body was located.
A nearby resident stated they observed a black vehicle drive into the lot that morning at approximately 3:00AM, it stayed in the field for approximately 1 minute before driving away.
An autopsy was conducted on Thursday, June 30, 2016 which revealed “no trauma” to the body. However, the final autopsy report is “pending” the results of the toxicology report which will take 4 to 5 weeks.
It appears that the death took place at another location and that the body was placed in the field.

Deceased:
Jennifer Calleja (Witt)
30 year old female, who was a resident of White Lake Twp.
She had been reported as missing by her boyfriend to the White Lake Twp. Police.
Anyone with information on where Jennifer may have been in the previous 72 hours prior to her body being discovered is asked to call the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office at 1-248-858-4950
