(FernCare Free Health Clinic, June 25, 2016)
The Metro Health Foundation has awarded FernCare a one year grant of $9,000.00 to support enrollment assistance in either the Affordable Care Act Insurance Exchange or Healthy Michigan/Medicaid. This assistance will be offered, not only to FernCare patients, but to anyone in the wider community. Those needing assistance are encouraged to call the clinic’s Appointment line at (248) 677-2273.
FernCare received the grant in recognition of the need for people in Ferndale and the surrounding community to obtain assistance with the insurance enrollment process. Having someone familiar with both programs to assist applicants can drastically reduce enrollment approval process by ensuring baby modern natural 01 adthat applicants receive accurate information regarding their eligibility for one of the programs.
This is the second grant FernCare has received for enrollment assist from MetroHealth. Last year we directly assisted just over 280 people and talked to every patient who had an appointment with us since April 1 last year about the value of enrollment and how we could help.
The information obtained from FernCare, as well as other agencies performing the same  services, will be used as a basis to suggest needed adjustments as the programs mature, allowing more  uninsured people to be included.
Metro Health Foundation is a private grant-making foundation.
