Beth Morrison Retires from HAVEN After 13 Years
(HAVEN, June 7, 2016)
PONTIAC, MICH. –After 13 years at the helm, Beth Morrison, President and CEO of HAVEN, will step down at the end of July. The Board has named Emily Matuszczak and Marianne Dwyer as co-interim CEOs effective August 1.
Morrison is relocating to Tucson, Ariz., where she will be serving as the CEO of Our Family Services beginning on August 15th. “For years my husband and I have dreamed about returning to Tucson, and the timing is finally right, not only for our family but also for HAVEN,” said Morrison. “After successfully completing the capital campaign and settling into the new facility, it is an opportune time for a new leader to embark on HAVEN’s next chapter.”
HAVEN has served as Oakland County’s center for the prevention and treatment of sexual assault and domestic violence for 41 years. The organization recently built a new state-of-the-art facility, which houses all of its programming, as well as space for partnering agencies and organizations. The facility was made possible through a successful $5M+ capital campaign, led by Morrison, as well as, the receipt of New Market Tax Credits. Each year, HAVEN serves nearly 20,000 people through its domestic and sexual violence victims programs and prevention education programming.
Sue Perlin, HAVEN’s board chair stated, “We are saddened to lose Beth as our leader, but we are happy for her and also look forward to what lies ahead for HAVEN. Beth leaves us with a positive financial base, strong community support, and quality programming in place.”
The search for HAVEN’s next leader, led by Leslie Geupel Stratton and a search committee of current and former board members, will commence immediately. The job requirements will soon be available on HAVEN’s website, www.haven-oakland.org.
