Ferndale, MI –  “I care more about the people my students become than  the scores on the tests they take.”  – Anonymous
It is graduation season, which is always a great time of year. I listen to the elementary teachers and principals that look at their little babies all grown up. I hear things like, “I can’t believe he’s that tall.”  “Wow, she got a 4.0!” etc… As a community I ask that you take the time this weekend and do one thing: e-mail a Ferndale teacher that has made a difference. Let them know about the difference they made. Think of how you try to keep your kids occupied and managed when you have them in your house for a full day. Now imagine you blumz07have 25 kids in your house, holding their attention from 8-3, getting them to eat lunch and stay organized and clean, and, on top of everything, making sure they learn what you teach them. Oh, by the way, you can only go to the bathroom when the kids go to lunch. Teachers work hard to make sure your child has an excellent education. So many times they only hear the negative. Take some time this weekend and thank a teacher.
This week, the Senior Classes at FHS and UHS marched across the stage and collected their diplomas, marking the culmination of their 13 year educational journey. Congratulations to all of our 2016 graduates!
