(City of Birmingham, June 2, 2016)

BIRMINGHAM, MI – The Birmingham community has a little more time to make their mark, literally, on the Hill School Bell Outdoor Structure. Engraved brick pavers that will surround the Hill School Bell at ground level are still available for purchase – now available through June 15.

The Hill School Bell Outdoor Structure is a visually appealing and protective gazebo-like structure inspired by the original cupola from the Hill School. It will be installed this summer in the plaza area between the Allen House and the Hunter House, with greater visibility and accessibility to passers-by. The brick pavers surrounding the bell will be 8”x8” and engraved with customized wording by donors according to the available number of characters and lines: garden16_laura_bermanup to five lines and up to 14 characters per line, including spaces. Pavers are stamped and letters/numerals will be recessed and black in color.

Pavers are available on a first come, first served basis with very limited quantities remaining. Costs for the pavers vary, depending on location. Very few pavers remain at the $100 and $150 level, with a few more available at the $250 level.  Future opportunities to purchase a paver may not occur again for as long as a year or more.  Individuals, families, co-workers, or civic groups can take advantage of this great opportunity to recognize connections to Birmingham and its history.  Questions can be directed to the museum at 248-530-1928.
