Candidate Interview: Chuck Moss for County Commission Dist. 12 (video)
(Crystal A. Proxmire, May 15, 2016)
Birmingham, MI – Republican Chuck Moss is in the running for a seat he previously held: County Commissioner for District 12. That District includes Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township and Birmingham. Moss is challenging incumbent Shelley Goodman Taub in the Republican Primary, which takes place Aug. 2. The winner of the primary will then face Democrat Charles Gaba on the Nov. 8, 2016 Election Day.
When asked what voters should know about him, Moss said “I’m running because #1 I can bring more experience to the table. The county is not out of the woods, the county is facing some serious challenges… These are going to be infrastructure and so that’s #1. #2 I have vision for what’s coming up and where the county should be going, what it should look like in five or six years, what the County Commission should be doing, not just the Executive… and #3 I believe politicians, including myself, have to set an example and a tone. I will not take a raise. I will not take a pay raise as your County Commissioner.”
In his interview with oc115, Moss also talked about his experience as Mayor, City Commissioner, State Rep and County Commissioner. He talked about his work as a lawyer, as a political columnist and a radio host. And he shared his views about budgeting and financial priorities.
