Rib Burn Out Raises Money
for Ferndale Charities
(Crystal A. Proxmire, May 14, 2016)
Ferndale, MI – The annual Rib Burn Out was moved to May 14th from it’s traditional winter date in hopes of avoiding the snow. The plan almost worked but for a brief round of hail that fell during the celebration. Thankfully the big tent between The Ferndale Area District Library and Dino’s Lounge kept the party-goers protected.
The event, hosted by Dino’s Lounge, raised money for the Ferndale Community Foundation, an organization that helps fund projects done by other organizations through grants each year.
Teams competed by using their own rib recipes and encouraging the votes of guests who got to sample ribs at every station. Tean Reverend Ribs, sponsored by Renaissance Vineyard won the Spirit Award. Blumin RibManiacs, sponsored by Blumz by JR Designs and M1 Studios, won Judge’s Choice. The team for ServPro won the People’s Choice Award.
