Raising Money for Wish Upon a Teen

Sofi K, a sophomore at Bloomfield Hills High School, released her debut album LoveHate last November. Already an accomplished performer and stellar student at the age 14, she has also devoted significant time and energy to help others as well. In the midst of her studies and while recording her first album, Sofi K began volunteering (or, in her words, “having the privilege of hanging out with some amazing teens”) with the Wish Upon A Teen non-profit organization based in Birmingham.
Wish Upon a Teen is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to providing resources, time and opportunities to teenagers with severe life-limiting medical conditions. Through creative, 
social, and educational opportunities, its goal is to normalize their environment and rebuild their self-esteem as they transition to adulthood.
Once a year, Wish Upon a Teen hosts “An Evening of Dreams,” which is a Prom gala for teens unable to attend the event at their own schools due to illness, treatments or hospitalization. In addition to putting the event together free-of-charge for the participants, Wish Upon a Teen provides the children with free attire, hair and makeup to make this evening a night to remember with family and friends. This year’s prom will be held on Saturday, May 14 at the Hotel St. Regis in Detroit.
As an Ambassador for Wish Upon A Teen, Sofi K will be performing live at “An Evening of Dreams,” as well as providing desserts and party activities. In addition, she is giving free copies of her album to the more than 100 attendees in their gift bags.
To help provide still-needed funding to help Wish Upon A Teen make this event incredible for these very deserving teens, Sofi K is asking for donations and has set up a GoFundMe page to take donations of any size. The web address is:
