Woman Found Dead in Closet, MDOC Searching for Boyfriend

Pontiac, MI – FROM DAY SHIFT: 04-22-2016, 07:00 hrs. THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT: 04-23-2016, 07:00 hrs. INCIDENT:  21:48 hrs. – City of Pontiac – Homicide Investigation / Request for the OSCO Forensic Crime Lab – #16-67046
 
SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the 100 block of Ridgemont on the report of a possible homicide.  The complainant, who is mother of the victim, found her daughter deceased and stuffed inside a closet of her apartment.  Deputies located the victim in a closet, with obvious signs of trauma.  Paramedics from STAR EMS provided telemetry to McLaren Hospital – Oakland where a physician pronounced the victim deceased.
 
The mother stated that she had not heard from her daughter since Tuesday of this week and that she went to her daughter’s apartment on Ridgemont to check her welfare. The mother and father of the victim checked the apartment and did not locate their daughter at that time. The mother stated that they left and decided to go back an hour later to check to see if their daughter had returned. After returning a second time, a more thorough search of the apartment was conducted by the mother at which point she located her daughter in a closet.
 
Attached to the front door of the apartment was a notice from the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) who had attempted to make contact with the victim’s boyfriend. MDOC was contacted by OCSO detectives who advised that the victim’s boyfriend had cut off his GPS tether somewhere in the City of Detroit. The boyfriend is on parole for Manslaughter on a conviction from Wayne County. The victim’s car was missing from the home and  found in Detroit.  The car was impounded by Detroit PD and TOT the OCSO Forensic Lab for processing.
 
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  Detectives, OCSO Forensic Lab and an Investigator from the Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. The victim’s body was turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office and an autopsy has been scheduled.  The Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team is looking for the suspect at this time. The incident remains under investigation
UPDATE: An autopsy was performed this morning on the victim and the Medical Examiner has ruled her death a homicide and the cause was suffocation.
