Ferndale, MI – Throughout Oakland County in the month of March, elected officials and other local celebrities visited childrens’ classrooms to read to them as part of National Reading Month.
Ferndale’s elected officials did their part, with councilmembers and school board trustees among those who took the time to share stories with the youth.
Councilperson Raylon Leaks-May visited theĀ Ferndale Early Childhood Center to share this adorable story with the adorable kids in the classroom of Ms. Camile Gunter.
Reading to these children brings me joy. You never know the impact you have on these young minds but I like to think that in some small way, I am helping to foster a love of reading, a love of the creative process and the courage to dream,” Leaks-May said.
