Orion Township, MI – FROM DAY SHIFT: 04-05-2016, 07:00 hrs.
THROUGH MIDNIGHT SHIFT: 04-06-2016, 07:00 hrs.
INCIDENT: 23:35 hrs. – Orion Township – Armed Robbery – #16-56358
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to a residence in the 800 block of N Long Lake Blvd. for an armed robbery that had just occurred.  The victim advised that he was selling a MacBook Computer on Craigslist.  Two males had arrived to purchase the computer and gave the dinos02sidelogo3seller/caller $800.00.  When the victim realized that the money wasn’t real, one of the responsible subjects pointed a gun at the victim and then both subject fled in the vehicle with the stolen computer.  The victim followed the subjects for a short distance before losing sight of them.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  A BOL was put out and an Auburn Hills Police officer observed the suspect vehicle SB on I-75 in Auburn Hills and then was able to stop the suspect vehicle near Wattles Rd in Troy.  Deputies responded and both subjects were taken into custody and transported back to the substation by Deputies to be interviewed.  The stolen computer was located inside the vehicle. Both subjects were later transported and lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending the issuance of warrants.

Update on Craig’s List Robbery in Orion Twp. below:
The driver/responsible suspect in the Craig’s List robbery in Orion Twp. haws been  implicated in perpetrating Craig’s List scams where he found items on Craig’s List and set up a meeting with the seller in a non-public location. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives learned that a 22 year old Detroit man has used counterfeit $100  and counterfeit $50 bills to pay for the transactions in SE Michigan. The suspect would add actual authentic smaller U.S. currency in the transaction to further the victims confidence in the scam. The items he sought out were mainly electronics and other items to his personal liking.
OCSO Detectives from the Orion Twp. Substation working with Sheriff’s detectives from the Sheriff’s City of Pontiac Substation, connected the driver to another Craig’s List theft in which Red Door Realty Ad _own_your_dreamthree counterfeit $100 bills were used to buy an Xbox.
OCSO Detectives working with the Harper Woods Police Department identified a $300 pair Air Jordan sneakers the driver had in his possession as the shoes taken in the same type of theft in their city. Detectives are also working with Livonia Police Department on a similar case involving an Xbox transaction.
The main suspect denies a weapon was involved in the crime in Orion Twp. and an extensive search of the path traveled failed to locate a hand gun.
The pair in the Orion Twp. case are also suspects in similar crimes  in other SE Michigan jurisdictions and all law enforcement agencies are now working together comparing crime reports to determine which jurisdictions can prepare criminal complaints.
The suspects age 22 and 21 years old have various misdemeanor criminal records.
On 4/8/2016 the driver and main suspect of the crimes, Anthony Lamar Henderson, age 22, was arraigned on Count # 1 – Uttering and UrbaneAd_01Publishing Counterfeit Bank Bills – 5 year Felony, Count #2-  Larceny by False Pretense – 1 year Misdemeanor in the 52-3 District Court before Judge Nancy Carniak, who set a $50,000 cash No 10% bond. The second suspect has been released pending further investigation. Further court proceedings are to be set by the court.
Safety Tip: Citizens are urges to use public locations during day light hours with video surveillance systems in the parking lots and/or lobbies. These location would include your local Police Stations, Sheriff’s Offices and the Secretary of State Office during normal business hours. If the other party refuses to meet at this type of location, this should be taken that the transaction is suspicious and should be avoided.  See attached release previously sent out.
