Ferndale Cat Shelter Launches Furever Fosters Program
(Ferndale Cat Shelter Press Release, March 16, 2016)
FERNDALE, Mich. – Ferndale Cat Shelter (FCS) is offering a new program, Furever Fosters!, to place homeless cats with people who would like the companionship but may not be able to afford the cost, according to Deanne Iovan, FCS executive directors.
“Cat companionship is so wonderfully rewarding, we believe that every cat should have a home and every home should have a cat,” Iovan said. ” We strongly encourage seniors on limited budgets who live alone to apply.”
The first step is to complete a foster application on the FCS website at http://ferndalecatshelter.org/, Iovan said.
“Tell us why cat companionship is important to you,” Iovan said. “We will match you up with a homeless cat who’s chances of being adopted are limited due to age or special needs. We will supply all the food, litter and medical care your new special friend needs.”
Founded in 2014, FCS is a 501(c)3 charity that provides a no-kill sanctuary for cats, adoptions, and a trap-neuter-release program to reduce the feral cat population. In 2015, the FCS expanded to include the Catfé Lounge (http://catfe.cafe/), the first permanent cat café in Michigan.
