Police Call Man’s Death in Burned Vehicle a “Very Unfortunate Accident”
Madison Heights, MI – An investigation of a fire and death of a man in a transport van behind  on John R. on March 6 was an accident, according to a report by The Daily Tribune.
Police told The Tribune that the man had purchased alcohol at the nearby Amori’s Market party store and gotten into the van. Surveillance footage shows that no other people came near the van while the man was inside. The man, 48-year-old Scott Keisling, lived just five blocks from where he died.
According to the report, Keisling opened an unlocked passenger side door and got inside. The vehicle was not running nor were any keys found. Keisling died of smoke inhalation and acute alcohol intoxication.
Police Chief Corey Haines called the death “a very unfortunate accident.”
