Ferndale, MI –  Ferndale High School was on alert this morning as police responded to a phoned-in threat.
Communications Director William Good issued the following statement:

“This morning Ferndale High School received a non-specific threatening phone call.  The Ferndale Police Department was immediately contacted and assessed the situation.   The Judy_Palmer30yearspoliced secured the building while they investigated and found that there was no valid threat against the school.   The school has since resumed normal operations.

“All threats to our school or students are taken seriously and investigated thoroughly. We wanted you to have the facts so you can discuss them with your child and emphasize the seriousness of this issue. Our number one priority is the safety and security of our students. We also want to clearly communicate with parents and be transparent about safety issues when they arise.

“Thank you to the Ferndale Police Department for their swift action and constant diligence in protecting our students and staff.”
