Police Looking for Suspect Who Impersonated Cop, Talked to Kids

Pontiac, MI – On Saturday, February 20th, at 3:47pm, Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the area of Alcott Elementary School, located at 460 W. Kennett, for a suspicious circumstances complaint.
Upon arrival, Deputies located an adult female who stated she was watching over neighborhood children while they played basketball on the Alcott School property.
Two children, both 10 years old, told the female while playing basketball a white male in a black Kia SUV called them over to his vehicle that had been parked in the Fire Lane of the school and began talking to them about the importance of staying in school.
The subject gave the 10 year old boys a football and a $20 dollar bill and told them he ‘was a cop’. Additionally, he told them he was a member of the ‘SWAT’ team and the children stated they saw a badge hanging around his neck.
The children observed a gun on the man’s lap, which was a silver revolver with a black handle. After speaking to the children, he left the area.
The suspect is described as a white male, with a medium complexion, clean shaven, and brown hair. He has tattoos of words or writing on his arms. The suspect was seen wearing all black clothing and a black baseball cap which had ‘SRT’ written on it in silver lettering.
“The safety of our children is our number one priority and if there is an individual misrepresenting himself as law enforcement, it brings us great concern,” said Sheriff Michael J. Bouchard. “If the public has any information leading to the whereabouts of this suspect, we ask that you contact the Sheriff’s Office immediately.”
