High Winds, Scattered Power

Waterford, MI – Wind storms with some lightning blew though Oakland County Friday night, sometimes reaching in the 30-40 mph range.
Pockets of power outages happened through the area according to the DTE website. As of 11pm, Waterford, Clarkston and Ortonville had the most outages, with areas of over 1,500 consumers affected. A stretch of Grand River Road between 8 Mile and 9 Mile in Farmington was also hard hit, with over 1,500 people without power.
White Lake and Lake Angelus each had over 1,000 affected.
The NE corner of Ferndale was powerless from Hilton to 1-75, between 9 Mile and Woodward Heights.
In Berkley power was out between 12 Mile and Webster from Woodward Avenue to the railroad tracks.
In Royal Oak the areas around Main Street and Rochester Road from 12 Mile to just north of 13 Mile was without power as well as several in smaller patches through the city.
Representatives from DTE are scheduled to come to the Madison Heights City Council meeting on Monday to discuss a history of power outages in the city. As of 11pm there were fewer than 99 residents in Madison Heights impacted by the windstorm.
