New York Bagel Delivery Van
Left Running Stolen
(Ferndale Police Department, Jan. 22, 2016)
Ferndale, MI – On 01/21/06 at about 3:40 a.m., Ferndale Police responded to a report of a delivery van stolen from New York Bagel on Woodward. An employee of the store said that a white male entered the bagel shop and asked to use the rest room. He was allowed to go to the bathroom. Shortly after, the employee noticed the man was gone and so was the delivery van which was left running with the keys in it. He phoned the police and reported the incident. Right away, a Ferndale officer saw the van travelling eastbound on E. 9 Mile. The officer turned and followed the van which proceeded to Paxton, turned south, then turned east onto Troy. The van drove to a dead end fenced in area.
Officers saw a b/m (Henry) walking away from the van. He lied about his identity, and told officers that a w/m just drove the van into the area and ran away. He pointed the direction that the w/m went. Officers then found the w/m (Schneider) hiding between some cinder block walls. Investigation showed Henry’s true identity. He was wanted for a parole violation.
Further investigation showed that both men are homeless. They said they were walking on Woodward and saw the running van. Schneider stole the van, then Henry got in with him.
Schneider is being charged with UDAA (5 year felony) and Henry with Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle (2 yr misdemeanor).
SUSPECTS:
Brennan Scott Schneider, w/m, 19
Shawn Damon Henry, b/m, 38
