Troy: Man Accused of
Stabbing Fellow Church Member at Christ the King Syriac

Troy, MI – On Sunday, January 17 at 12:08 PM, Troy Police received a 911 call reporting a stabbing at Christ the King Syriac Catholic Church, 2300 John R. Suspect Brian Boulus, a 21 year old from Center Line, stabbed a church security volunteer outside the church with a small kitchen knife.
When Boulus was approaching the church door, the security person saw that Boulus had a knife. He told Boulus to put the knife back in his car before entering the church. Boulus then pulled the knife and stabbed the victim and then fled the scene.
The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries described as a small cut to the abdomen. The victim was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital by Alliance Mobile Health.
Multiple witnesses observed the incident, which occurred outside of the building. Investigation revealed that Boulus is a disgruntled member of the church.
Boulus was located at his home in Center Line and taken in to custody without incident.
Boulus was arraigned on January 19, 2016 in front of Magistrate Waldmann on a charge of Assault with Intent to Commit Murder. Bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety.
