Berkley, MI – For the first time, the City of Berkley will host a special charity hockey game supporting disabled Michigan Veterans.

Join area hockey fans on January 30th as the Bloomfield Hills High School girls hockey hockey team faces off at their home arena against members from the Michigan Warriors NewWay_Jazz_TuesdaysHockey Program.

Since its creation in 2014, the Michigan Warriors, a non-profit organization, help disabled veterans adjust to home life after returning from active duty by providing educational and developmental hockey programs. It also provides them with opportunities to participate in volunteer community services.

Parks and Recreation Director Theresa McArleton says it is an honor for the City to host the hockey game. “We are really excited to support such a great cause and assist those in Michigan who served in   the military. We hope the arena will be filled to the rafters on the 30th and look forward to the possibility of making this an annual event.”

The hockey game begins at 7 P.M. at the Berkley Ice Arena, located at 2300 Robina. Tickets will be on   sale for $5.00 at the door. All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Michigan Warriors Hockey Program.
