Baby Treated for Skull Fracture, Burned Hands & Other Injuries, Child Abuse Suspected

Royal Oak, MI – INCIDENT:  17:43 hrs. – City of Pontiac –Child Abuse Investigation #16-7234
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to Royal Oak Beaumont to meet with Child Protective Services regarding a possible child abuse complaint. A toddler had been transported from McLaren Oakland Hospital for emergency care related to a skull fracture, brain bleed, left eye retinal hemorrhage, burns to the hand and swelling to both cheeks.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Detective’s responded to Royal Oak Beaumont hospital.  Interviews were conducted. The child was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for continued treatment.  The investigation is ongoing.
VICTIM INFORMATION:  15 month old female, resident of Wayne
SUSPECT INFORMATION: 26 year old female, resident of Pontiac
