Holly Man Accidentally Shoots Self Through Hand

Holly Township, MI – Accidental Shooting: On January 1, 2016 at approximately 1 30 AM, troopers were dispatched to the Genesys Health Park in reference to an accidental shooting. Further investigation revealed that a 61 year old male from Holly Township, was given a 32cal Walter PPK. 1945 Semi Auto and he thought was empty. He pulled back the slide and the gun went off. The bullet went through the palm of his hand and out on the back side of his hand. He stated he didn’t believe it was loaded because his mother had it and before that his father. His wife was upstairs in bed when she heard the shot go off. She immediately drove him to the hospital. The victim was treated and released.
