FernCare Card Contest Gets Beautiful Choices

Ferndale, MI – FernCare Free Clinic held a contest for the artwork for their holiday card, and the winner was JoAnn Hite whose design features blue and white birds sharing food.
The card is from the FernCare Board of Directors: President Ann Heler, Vice President Rudy Serra, Secretary John Sterritt, Treasurer Matt Noaczok, and members Kate Baker, Pam Bellaver, Randy Caballero, Christine Rainey, Briam Wahl, Dr. Linda McKenzie, along with Clinic Manager Amy Davisson and Medical Director Dr. Chris Popp.
“This was such a perfect card,” said FernCare Director Ann Heler. “We got some really good ones, but this one we thought really shows what FernCare is all about – giving.”
Another joy to the board was getting an envelope with entries for three children. Serena, Myilia, and Giana Donpollo each made an entry that Heler called “very cute.
“They put so much time and thought into them and everyone was all smiles when we got them,” she said.
Hite was given a gift certificate to The Local, a restaurant in Ferndale and her painting graced the cover of the holiday cards. And even though their card did not get picked, a donor sent them a special present!
