Berkley, MI – As Library Director Matt Church was making the rounds at The Berkley Public Library, he found a mysterious note propped up on one of the shelves.
The envelope said “If you find this, it is for you. (Yes, you!!)”
Of course the curious librarian opened it. Inside was a card with a flower on it, and a note.
“Oh, love. I see you. I see how hard you try to be everything for everyone. I see how your heart CandleWickShoppe_Oakland115_144x260aches for all of the sadness and hatred in the world. Please know this: you are enough. You are loved and lovely and brave and beautiful. Always.” Signed with only a heart, this card was left presumably to brighten a random stranger’s day.
“I was feeling a little guilty that I found it rather than a patron who needed a boost,” said Chruch. So he re-sealed the envelope and left it in hopes someone else would find it and get a smile like he did. “Will be curious to see how soon it gets picked up,” he added.
No other random kindness notes have been found, but there is always the possibility that the idea could spread.
