Warm Day Made for Cool
Time at Ferndale Ice Festival
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Dec. 13, 2015)
Ferndale, MI – A warm day made for a cool time in Downtown Ferndale as the annual Holiday Ice Festival brought people out for shopping, fun and festivities.
Over 40 ice sculptures lined 9 Mile and Woodward. Most were sponsored by local businesses. Though the sculptures gradually melted through the day, the warm weather brought out plenty of visitors.
There was also a tent where people could make holiday cards to send to soldiers deployed overseas, and tractor-pulled hayride.
And of course Santa Claus was there to visit and take pictures with the kids. He even brought two reindeer to help him make the day more festive. The event was put on by the Ferndale Downtown Development Authority, with help from businesses and volunteers. Learn more about Downtown Ferndale at www.downtownferndale.com.
