Highland Twp. Teacher Ill After Someone Put Pot Brownies in Teacher’s Lounge

Highland Township, MI – INCIDENT: 08:45 hrs. – Highland Township – Adulterated Food #15-200288
SUMMARY: On 12-9-15 at 8:45AM Deputies were dispatched to a Highland Township at the Spring Mills Elementary School for an adulterated food complaint that occurred on 12/8/2015. On 12/08/2015 around 3:30PM a teacher had become ill during the school day and was transported to the hospital for treatment. After an evaluation at the hospital the teacher reported that she had tested positive for the presence of THC (Marijuana). The teacher stated that the only unusual item that she had consumed was a brownie from the staff break room. Two other teachers also consumed the brownies and felt ill but did not seek medical treatment.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Deputies recovered the remaining brownies from the staff break room. The brownies were taken to the OCSO Forensics Laboratory where they tested positive for THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. The investigation continues by Sheriff’s Detectives.
VICTIM INFORMATION: 44 year old female, resident of Highland Township.
