Rochester Hills Man Arrested After Reportedly Shooting at Wife

Rochester Hills, MI – On December 1, 2015, Oakland County  Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a possible domestic assault at a home in the 2500 block of John R Road in the City of Rochester Hills. Prior to arrival, the Deputies were notified a woman had been beaten up by her husband.
They were also notified the man had shot at his wife with a small handgun.   The victim was talking with her husband in the bedroom of the home when he got up and said he  was going to kill her grabbing her around the neck. She was able to get away from him and  retreated to the basement to call 911. While on the phone, her husband came down the stairs  and pointed a gun at her firing two shots.
He then went back upstairs leaving her alone in the  basement. Both shots missed the victim who then ran outside to await the Deputies arrival.
The husband was identified as John Lewis Piotrowski a 68-year-old Rochester Hills resident. He was arrested and lodged at the Oakland County Jail. Deputies removed 145 weapons from the  residence for safekeeping.
This included 87 rifles and 58 handguns.
The case was presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office who issued a four-count warrant. Piotrowski was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder a felony punishable up to  life in prison. Assault With a Dangerous Weapon a 4-year felony. Two counts of Possession of a  Firearm in the Commission of a Felony a felony punishable by 2 years.
John Piotrowski was arraigned by video at the 52-3 District Court in Rochester Hills by Judge   Nancy Carniak. Piotrowski received a $500,000 bond, no 10%. His next court date is December   15, 2015 in front of Judge Julie Nicholson for an exam.
