EDITORS NOTE:  The oc115 believes in the need for suicide reporting and data collection in all cities. Hiding the data, and hiding the deaths, contribute strongly to stigma. People with suicidal thoughts think they are crazy or broken instead of realizing how common these thoughts are. And survivors are saddled with shame, guilt and stigma. They think they are alone when in reality suicide is very common and the survivors of it are all around them, hiding their experiences too. Bringing a problem to light is the best way to solve it.
