MI Supreme Court Justice Richard Bernstein Shares Wisdom with Baker College Students (video)

What was going to be a simple class discussion for Harley Manela’s Paralegal 341 Elder Law class turned into an incredible presentation at the Baker College Student Center with over 250 students soaking up wisdom from Michigan’s first blind Supreme Court Justice, Hon. Richard Bernstein.
Justice Bernstein speaks not only from the perspective of a person with a disability, but as someone who has overcome a catastrophic injury and as an active advocate for the law and bringing compassion to the justice system.
His inspirational speech and subsequent Q&A left students and faculty with a lot to think about as they continue on their personal journeys. He also had some critical words about the law school entrance exam, and for judges who say “this is my courtroom.”
