Police Report: Woman Shoots Son in Farmington Hills

On October 28, 2015, at approximately 1:40 AM, the Farmington Hills Police Department and Farmington Hills Fire Department responded to 37231 Eisenhower in the Independence Green Apartment Complex on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a 24-year-old male resident of Detroit, who had been shot. The Farmington Hills Fire Department provided advanced life support at the scene and transported him to Beaumont Hospital-Farmington Hills where he was pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the subject was shot by his 43-year-old mother, who is a resident of the complex. The mother has indicated that her son had forced entry into her apartment and she was defending herself and other family members from an assault being committed by her son. There have been past allegations of assault involving the son. The investigation continues and there is no danger to the public.
