RO: Volunteers Needed to Plant Trees at Gunn-Dyer Park Nov. 7
WHAT:
The city of Royal Oak is partnering with ReLeaf Michigan to plant 20 trees on Saturday, November 7 in Gunn-Dyer Park, 3599 Hunter Rd, Royal Oak, 48073, corner of Hunter and Hampton Roads.
Organizers are looking for volunteers to help out on Saturday morning.  Volunteers are asked UrbaneAd_01to wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing and bring a shovel and other appropriate tools.  The group will meet at the northeast end of the bleachers in the park at the corner of Hunter and Hampton Roads at 9:30 a.m. to sign in and enjoy light refreshments.  ReLeaf Michigan will demonstrate how to properly plant a tree.  The group will split up from there to do the plantings.  Twenty large sized trees are being planted.
ReLeaf Michigan, a non-profit organization, partners with communities statewide to replenish our tree canopies through tree planting events.  Trees provide many benefits to communities such as shade, improving economic vitality of commercial districts, absorbing storm water, and reducing carbon in our atmosphere.  By partnering with ReLeaf Michigan, the city of Royal Oak is continuing to build on an already successful forestry program that invests in the city’s future.  This planting is being sponsored by ReLeaf Michigan and the DTE Foundation.Red Door Realty Ad _own_your_dream
