INCIDENT:  10:32 hrs. – Brandon Township – Felonious Assault – Road Rage / Carrying a Concealed Weapon / Felon in Possession of a Firearm / Assault and Battery – #15-167514
SUMMARY:  Deputies responded to the area of Sashabaw Rd and Seymour Lake Rd on a report of a male subject physically assaulting a female on the shoulder of the roadway.  There had been an earlier road rage between the two drivers. Both drivers had stopped to ferncareADconfront one another, when the male began assaulting the female. Two motorists witnessed the assault and stopped their vehicles and approached the two in an attempt to assist the female, but the responsible male allegedly pointed a semi-automatic handgun at them. The two motorists returned to their vehicles and the responsible drove away in his vehicle. One of the motorists continued to follow the responsible and called 9-1-1 to report the incident. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the responsible vehicle on Pine Knob Rd near Clarkston Rd. The driver was taken into custody without incident and a stainless steel semi-automatic handgun was recovered.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The victim was medically cleared by the Brandon Township Fire Department and statements were taken.  Deputies recovered a .380 cal. semi-automatic handgun from the suspect’s waistband as well as a mechanically operated knife. The suspect has several prior felony convictions for weapons violations.  The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail pending charges.HowesLocation
