Jeff McKeen, SOCWA (Southeast Oakland County Water Authority) General Manager, and Mark Jacobs, an Attorney with Dykema Gossett PLLC, will discuss The Great Lakes Water Authority and its impact on the Southeastern Michigan water and sewer systems
Mark Jacobs, a life time Huntington Woods resident and member of the Environmental Advisory Committee, is a partner in the Dykema Gossett law firm. Mark’s practice focuses primarily on environmental permitting, compliance, regulation and litigation. He has been the lead attorney for DWSD on environmental issues for over 20 years. Mark is the expert on the many environmental issues that DWSD, and now the GLWA, will continue to face in the future.
Jeff McKeen has been the General Manager of SOCRRA and SOCWA since 2002. SOCRRA provides refuse, recycling and yard waste services to 12 communities in Southeastern Oakland County. SOCWA is the water supplier to 13 communities also located in Southeastern Oakland County. Both organizations are owned by their member communities. SOCRRA and SOCWA have been performing shared services for their member communities since the 1950’s. Jeff says that one of the most interesting parts of his job is having 20 different bosses. Before joining SOCRRA and SOCWA, Jeff had over 20 years of management experience in various positions in Engineering, Operations and Marketing for Michigan Consolidated Gas Company.
