INCIDENT: 15:02 hrs. – 09-24-2015 – City of Pontiac – Felonious Assault / Fleeing and Eluding Police / PIT Maneuver – #15-156686
SUMMARY:  Deputies were dispatched to the 1300 block of Gambrell Dr. on the report of a Domestic Assault in progress. The victim stated that her boyfriend had strangled her and pointed a shotgun in her face. The victim stated that the suspect had left the scene prior to the Deputy’s arrival. The victim reported that the suspect had taken the loaded shotgun with him and that he told her that he was not going to go back to prison. While responding to the address, deputies located the suspect vehicle traveling on Joslyn Rd near Walton Blvd.  The ChamberAd_01vehicle accelerated and fled from deputies southbound on I-75 from Joslyn Rd. The vehicle exited I-75 onto westbound Square Lake Rd. The suspect vehicle continued northbound onto Woodward Ave. and turned north on Jessie St. and as it approached E. Pike St. the pursuing Deputy utilized a successful PIT Maneuver which disabled the vehicle.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT:  The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A loaded shotgun was located in the vehicle wrapped in a jacket. The victim identified the jacket as belonging to the suspect and identified the shotgun as the weapon used by the suspect during the assault. Detectives responded to assist with the investigation. The suspect was transported to the substation for an interview by Detectives. The suspect was lodged at the Oakland County Jail. Detectives will be seeking warrants. There were no injuries candlewickshoppeADbluereported. There was minor damage to the patrol vehicle that used to administer the PIT maneuver and moderate damage to the suspect’s vehicle.
VICTIM INFORMATION:  29 year old female; resident of the City of Pontiac.
ARRESTEE INFORMATION:  27 year old male: resident of the City of Pontiac.
