With Arts, Beats and Eats attracting thousands of people to Downtown Royal Oak, police were kept very busy. The event itself had only two arrests, but there were 1,595 parking tickets written according to the City’s Facebook Page.
ArcadeAD_02“Most of the violations were parking permit violations,” the post said.  The fine for parking without a permit is $50.
Residents were issued permits for the weekend and parking decks were open.
The police also report that an intoxicated male was arrested trying to climb a light tower at the main stage. This and another arrest for unknown causes happened Monday night. Information on parking for the event is available online at http://romi.gov/content/abe-park-0.
