RO: Crash Prompts Reader to Warn Against Distracted Driving

A chain reaction of rear-endings happened on Northbound Woodward at Catalpa Friday, leaving four cars damaged but no serious injuries. A pizza delivery driver’s car was crushed. Tommy Onyx, a passenger in the vehicle at the front of the chain, photographed the crash and cautioned others about the dangers of texting and driving. It is not clear if the responsible driver was texting or not, but witnesses told Onxy the driver had been.  Whatever the cause though, the collision is a reminder to avoid distractions while driving.
“We’re ok. We are in the silver car in the foreground at a stoplight. Pick up truck driver was texting according to witnesses. Slammed into Domino’s pizza driver in the Toyota who then slammed into the Mercury who hit us,” Onyx said in a Facebook post. “Scary. Accidents are loud. Gonna be stiff tomorrow. Amazing that the Domino’s driver walked away – thanking every airbag. #donttextanddrive.”
