31-year-old Pontiac man was arrested following a crime spree that spanned three days and left one man injured.
It began on Monday, Aug. 10, when a 1995 Ford Ranger was stolen from the 1500 block of Franklin Road. Shortly after, several vehicles were broken into on the 2000 block of Franklin Road.
On Aug. 11, someone broke into the Outdoor Creations Group, on the 1600 block of Telegraph. A floor jack had been thrown through a windlisa schmidt lawow. The jack had been stolen from one of the vehicles the night before. Surveillance cameras recorded a Ford Ranger in the parking lot.
At 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, the Ford Ranger was seen on a video running down a man. The victim, a 58-year-old Pontiac resident, was walking home from work. He was walking through a parking lot at 775 Industrial Court when the Ranger struck him from behind. While he was on the ground the vehicle ran over him a second time. The victim was able to walk away from the scene but the suspect followed him and assaulted him with his fists and stole his wallet.
On Thursday, Aug. 14, Township police with the assistance of Clawson, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office and Troy Special Investigations Team conducted a search to locate the Ford Ranger. At 5:30 p.m. Oakland County deputies located the Ranger in Pontiac. After a vehicle and foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended.NewWay_Jazz_Tuesdays
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office filed the following charges against Pontiac resident Brodric Demontray Provost:

  • Assault with intent to commit murder.
  • Robbery armed.
  • Unlawful driving away of an automobile.
  • Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle.

Provost was arraigned in 48th District Court in front of Judge Kimberly Small. Bond was set at $1 million.
