Supreme Court Justice Kelly Leaving the Bench

Michigan Supreme Court Justice Mary Beth Kelly is leaving her Supreme Court seat effective Oct. 1 to return to private practice, reported the Detroit News.
Kelly has served on the Michigan Supreme Court for five years. She is one of five Republican appointees on the seven-person bench. Governor Rick Snyder will select her replacement.
The Detroit News report covers some of Kelly’s decisions and speculates about a possible run for Attorney General since Bill Schuette is term-limited out.
