Royal Oak
Chamber Seeking Nominations for Community Awards, Due Sept. 1
(Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce Press Release, Aug. 16, 2015)
TV Stations do it. Magazines do it. They seek the “Best Of” in an effort to honor the tremendous efforts made by businesses and people within a community. This noble tradition is honored by the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce as well. And the search is now on for the BEST OF Royal Oak.
The Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce is turning the spotlight on the Good happening in our community. Each year, the Chamber seeks businesses, citizens, organizations, and homes that stand out and make our community a better place to live, work and play. And each year, the Chamber honors these outstanding individuals and groups at the Royal Oak Community Awards.
But before the honoring though, the Chamber must find these deserving yet unsung heroes. “We rely on the members of our community to help identify nominees for the awards we present, which include Citizen of the Year, Community Spirit, Business Person of the Year, Residential and Business Beautification as well as the Youth Achievement Award designed to honor a high school who excels and goes above and beyond typical student life,” stated Chamber Executive Director Shelly Kemp.
Residents and business owners are invited to complete a Nomination Form and submit it for consideration to the Community Awards Committee. The 2015 Royal Oak Community Awards Nomination Form can be found, downloaded and completed on-line at www.RoyalOakChamber.com. Submissions can then be routed following the directions on the form to Director of Events & Communications Jennifer Clark via email to JenniferC@RoyalOakChamber.com.
“The Chamber hosts the Community Awards to celebrate businesses, homeowners, organizations, students and individuals who make life in Royal Oak beautiful, fun, safe and special for all of us,” added Kemp. “Anyone may submit a nomination.”
Nominations are due by September 1 to the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce. Electronic submissions and support materials (i.e, photographs, letters of endorsement, etc) are preferred, though submissions can be typed or hand-written as well.. Forms can be printed from the web site or obtained directly from the Chamber, mailed in or dropped off at the 200 S. Washington Chamber office.
The 68th Annual Royal Oak Community Awards will be held on October 21 at Emagine/Star Lanes Royal Oak. For additional information about the Nomination Process or the Community Awards event, visit www.RoyalOakChamber.com, email JenniferC@RoyalOakChamber.com or call 248.547.4000.
