The Rochester Community School District’s Board of Education Vice President Jane Pierobon has submitted her resignation, effective July 25, 2015.
The Board of Education accepted Pierobon’s resignation at the July 27 Board meeting.
Pierobon has served on the BOE since 2011. A graduate of Oakland University and 23-year veteran, retired, of the U.S. Army Nurse Corp, she is employed as an emergency room nurse for gardenfreshADthe Henry Ford Health System. Pierobon has lived in Oakland County for more than 40 years. She and her husband have four children. “I am proud of the work that I have done with such an amazing Board of Education,” said Pierobon in a letter to BOE President Jennifer Berwick. “I truly believe in public education and RCS is a wonderful place to educate children.”
Pierobon also stated that she looks forward to devoting her energies to supporting her family and her career.
“Jane has been a faithful public servant of the Rochester Community School District for more than three years. We respect her decision to resign and wish her all the best for the future,” said Berwick.
Board Trustee Beth Talbert will accept the responsibilities of vice president, and the position of trustee will be available for an eligible candidate to baby01apply.
Talbert has served as a member of the BOE since 2007. She earned a Master of Arts degree from Bowling Green State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University, double majoring in English and Communication. Talbert is a faculty member in the communication program at Oakland University. She and her husband have two children who are graduates of the district.
The Board will follow the Revised School Code and Michigan Election Law in appointing an eligible candidate to fill the trustee position.
The appointed person will be selected by a majority vote of the Board and will serve from August 24, 2015nicholas-schrock-allstate to December 31, 2016.
For consideration as a candidate, the application, along with a resume, must be received by the President of the Board of Education of the Rochester Community School District by 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2015. NOTE:  Pierobon was in the news in April because underage drinking and prescription drug use in her home sent a teen to the hospital in April.  No criminal charges were filed in the matter. We will update this story if more information becomes available.
