royal_servicesRaylon Leaks-May and William White will also be on the ballot for City Council. Leaks-May is currently a Trustee of the Ferndale School Board.
“Although I’m unopposed, I still look forward to talking with residents this fall about issues important to them and to our city. I plan to campaign on behalf of Dan Martin and Raylon Leaks-May, so I know that will give me lots of opportunities to engage voters and hear what’s on their minds,” said Mayor Coulter.Reid_Sally_115
When asked why he is running again, Councilperson Martin said “I am running for re-election to continue the work I started 4 years ago.   I am passionate about this community.  We really have a great City and I want to focus on keeping Ferndale a tremendous place to live, raise a family, work and play.”
Leaks-May stated “I have chosen to run for City Council because I believe  will bring a unique and different perspective to council. I am a 25 year resident, mother of five and currently serve on the Ferndale Schools Board of Education. I see opportunities for our community to invest in affordable housing and the option for our seniors, young adults and families to age in place should they choose to do so. I want to be part of the conversations regarding  smart developmental options for our community and  I believe that our residents deserve to be included in those conversations! ”
White explained why he is running, saying “I’ve decided to run for City Council, because I’ve lived in Ferndale for 27 years. My wife and I have raised our three sons here. I feel the police, fire, and city employees are one of the best in the state of Michigan. I also feel Ferndale is moving in the right direction for younger people to purchase affordable housing. I want to be a part of Ferndale growth in the future and become the best city in Michigan to live in.”
